Jamaica 2023 Day #5 Report

Hi Friends,

Today was a replay of yesterday with a few notable exceptions.

  1. At our devotions as Flankers Primary and Junior High School, Isaac gave a devotional about being whole hearted and Becky read the Max Lucado classic story, “You Are Special”.  Then our group divided into teams and spent about 20 minutes in classrooms interacting with the children.
  2. Our team returned to WestHaven home for the less-abled and several of our boys participated.  I was very proud that these young men were willing to enter into this challenging ministry opportunity.
  3. We concluded our construction portion of our ministry and arranged for a team of Jamaican workers to complete the more technical portions of the projects that we were unable to finish.
  4. Due to traffic, our bus was late in arriving to take us back to JLM.  So the team had to wait at the entrance to Canterbury.  While we waited, Kyra, Leila and Becky witnessed to a boy, Aiden Brown and invited him to the after school program. They also had an opportunity to pray with him.
  5. Tomorrow the whole team is headed back to Flankers for devotions, up to Robin’s Nest Orphanage and then will return to Canterbury for our final after school program.

  1. Absolutely incredible! It is so amazing to watch the young people be the hands and feet of God!! I pray this experience stays with them always!!

  2. Going on Mission Trips changes you forever. I’m not an arm twister but if I would go that direction, this would be one of my arm-twisting ativities.
